Piste hikers in the ski resort Gaissau-Hintersee

Up to the Anzenberg... Or would you prefer the Wieserhörndl?

In winter, Hintersee looks like a fairytale landscape covered in deep snow. During a piste hike, you have the time to let the magic cast its spell on you, so you completely forget the stresses of everyday life. Piste hikers have three trails to choose from in Hintersee. And if you are not yet completely confident on touring skis, then the "Loibersbachhöhe tour skiing practice track" is perfect for you.

Ascent to the Anzenberg in Hintersee (1,456 m)

Start in the Hintersee valley on the 3-seater chair lift (paid parking). Ascend to Piste 12, before bypassing the steep slope on Piste 13. Then go to Pistes 12 and 11 to the Anzenberg. Here, hikers on the pistes will be met with a magical view of the Osternhorgruppe range and the Tennen mountains.

Ascent to the Wieserhörndl in Gaissau (1,567 m)

The journey starts in the valley station of Gaissau (paid parking only). Ascent on blue Piste 1 to the exit of the second chair lift. Then switch to the red Piste 1. When exiting drag lift F at Wieserhörndl,  you will be greeted by a breathtaking view of the Osterhorngruppe range and the Tennen mountains, and you can see as far as the city of Salzburg and Hallein.

Ascent to the Grobriedel in Gaissau (1,373 m)

The hike begins at the valley station at the Kurvenlift G (T-bar lift). Note: parking space is limited! Ascent on Piste 10 to the Kurvenlift mountain station. Once they reach the top, winter sports enthusiasts are treated to a breathtaking view of the Osterhorngruppe mountains.

Places to stop off

In Hintersee, you can enjoy food and drink at the Latschenalm (a short descent from Anzenberg and a short ascent back up to Hintersee) or in the Anzenberg mountain restaurant (at the valley station drag lift H). In Gaissau, you can stop off at Spielbergalm ( half-way down).
