Head Up Anzenberg on Touring Skis
In winter, Hintersee transforms into a snow covered mountain landscape. A ski tour on a prepared slope gives you plenty of time to take in the peaceful surroundings and leave everyday life behind. Touring skiers in Hintersee can ascend Anzenberg via a partly groomed ski route and choose between the prepared slope or a powder descent back into the valley. Ascent to the Anzenberg in Hintersee (1,456 m)
The ski route follows the former valley run of the Gaissau Hintersee ski area between Anzenberg and Hintersee. From the bottom station of the three chairlift in Hintersee, the partly groomed ski route climbs up to Anzenberghöhe. The route is partly groomed along its nearly 3 km length and ascends 716 metres in elevation from the valley to the mountain. This makes it an ideal training route and also suitable for snowshoe hikers.
This means that not only experienced ski tourers but also beginners and snowshoe hikers can enjoy ideal conditions for a safe ascent and descent. Please stay on the designated winter ski route. This new route in the Fuschlsee region provides an excellent opportunity for ski tourers and snowshoe hikers to enjoy their favourite activities without unnecessarily disturbing the area's valuable natural habitats.
Information and Rules of Conduct
The descent from Anzenberghöhe is a marked ski route in accordance with ÖNORM S 4611 and is NOT a ski piste. Partial grooming is carried out as required and at the operator's discretion, depending on weather conditions.
The ski route is closed when the avalanche warning level reaches 3 or higher. It is also not secured against other potential hazards. Bypassing the steep section via the forest road is strictly prohibited, and the forest road is therefore always closed!
Users of the ski route must have appropriate skiing skills and sufficient alpine experience. They must also be able to recognise potential hazards in the surrounding terrain. Every ski route user is responsible for obtaining information about any possible dangers before starting the descent. In addition, users must assess the current conditions themselves each day, taking into account the weather, snowpack stability and current avalanche warning level, and determine whether using the route is safe.
Please observe the following rules:
- Respect all closures
- Follow all warning signs and instructions
- Check the current conditions before setting off
- Respect wildlife and avoid disturbing animals
- Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times
- FIS rules apply to ski tourers
- Be considerate of other ski route users, especially during ascents, descents and at blind spots
- Do not use freshly groomed areas, or only ski along the edge when descending
- Use designated parking areas only; these are subject to a fee
Please note that grooming and maintenance work may be carried out outside the designated operating hours as required. The ski route is CLOSED between 5:00 pm and 8:00 am, and from Friday at 9:30 pm until Saturday at 8:00 am!
