The origins of the Dollhouse Museum in Hintersee

The doll house museums collection originally belonged to the Kunert family. Over time, the decision was taken to make these unique items accessible to the public so that other toy enthusiasts could admire the miniature models. The Ebner family at DAS Hintersee declared its intention to create a dollhouse museum in the 400-year-old Haus Satzstein, which provides the perfect setting for an exhibition of this kind.

An exhibition worth seeing in the Dollhouse Museum in Salzburg region

25 doll's houses, consisting of a total of 40,000 individual parts, always wow visitors and take adults and children back to the days of their carefree childhood. But in addition to the doll's houses, in the doll house museum there are also old toy shops, teddy bears and "Mecki" figures to admire, most of them made by fine artists' hands.

The Dollhouse Museum in Salzburg region is often seen as a museum of a childhood long past, as doll's houses did not originally have the function of a toy as they do today. Their role was to act as aids in the upbringing of daughters from good households and were intended to prepare them for adulthood. Take some time after a ski tour to have a look for yourself in the doll house museum.
